On Sunday, December 8, 2013, Valerie Gatto of Pittsburgh was named MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA® 2014 at the conclusion of the three-day MISS PENNSYLVANIA TEEN USA® & MISS PENNSYLVANIA USA® Pageant, which was held Hyatt Regency International Airport Hotel in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Valerie Gatto is the 5’5″ blue-eyed daughter of Theresa Gaugler of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. Valerie is a graduate of North Hills High School and the University of Pittsburgh. She is currently a freelance Marketing Coordinator, while she continues to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. She would like to become the Chief Marketing Officer of a Fortune 500 company after receiving her MBA. She hopes to start her own philanthropic organization that will positively impact underprivileged children in the USA. She enjoys cooking, singing, watching sports, being a trivia buff and inspirational speaking. She describes herself as ambitious, inspirational and well-rounded.
Crowned by Jessica Billings, MISS PENNSYLVANIA® 2013, Valerie represented Pennsylvania in the MISS USA® 2014 Pageant, which was televised on the NBC television network, where she was a Top 20 Semifinalist.
The remainder of the “Top 5” included: First Runner-up Billie Jo Powers of Pittsburgh, Second Runner-up Andrea Shen of Philadelphia, Third Runner-up Laura DiFrancesco of West Chester and Fourth Runner-up Cassandra Angst of Feasterville.
The Semi-finalists were: Devon Mondillo of West Chester, Samantha Weidner of Honesdale, Stephanie Jacques of Bethlehem, Gretchen Schoeck of Hershey, Ariane Datil of Philadelphia, Shana McKay of Ridley Park, Lindsey Stoltzfus of Strasburg, Khari Siegfried of Bethlehem, Elliot Griffin of Philadelphia, Candice Robinette of Slippery Rock.
Billie Jo Powers was named Miss Photogenic and Stephanie Jacques was voted Miss Congeniality.
